Terms of Use

Clear, respectful terms for using Docseta.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to Docseta. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are in the United States or outside Canada, these Terms still apply to you unless a mandatory local law provides otherwise.

1. Definitions

"User" means any person who accesses or uses Docseta. "Service" means Docseta’s website, apps, and related services. "Personal Information" and "Sensitive Personal Information" have the meanings under applicable privacy laws and include government IDs, document scans, extracted dates, and contact data. "Content" means data and documents you upload or generate. "Controller/Processor" are used as equivalent roles for Docseta and its providers under applicable privacy laws.

2. Agreement scope and acceptance

By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you use Docseta from a state, province, or country other than Ontario or California, you agree that these Terms still govern your use to the extent permitted by law.

3. Use of the Service

Docseta helps you store and organize important documents and receive reminders. You are responsible for how you use the Service and for complying with applicable laws and regulations.

4. Account responsibility

You are responsible for all activity on your account and for protecting passwords and any Telegram linkage. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

5. Personal information and sensitive data

The Service processes Personal Information and Sensitive Personal Information, including government IDs, document scans, extracted dates, and contact data. OCR and reminders are automated and may contain errors. You must verify all extracted data and document types yourself.

6. Third-party providers

We use third-party providers to operate the Service: Google (Gemini OCR), Google (Gmail API), Telegram, payment processors (Stripe or LemonSqueezy), and analytics/monitoring providers if enabled. Docseta does not control these services and is not responsible for their actions or outages.

7. US consumer rights

If you are a California resident or covered by US state privacy laws, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. You may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information. We do not discriminate against users who exercise these rights.

8. Accuracy and no reliance

Docseta does not guarantee the accuracy of OCR or classification results. You are responsible for verifying deadlines and document details. Docseta is not liable for penalties, missed deadlines, refusals, loss of status, or decisions by immigration or other authorities.

9. Payments

Paid plans are billed through Stripe or LemonSqueezy. Subscription terms, renewals, and cancellations are governed by the payment processor’s policies.

10. Termination and suspension

You may stop using Docseta at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, suspected abuse, fraud, security risks, or legal compliance requirements.

11. Limitation of liability

Docseta is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Docseta is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, or for third-party provider breaches. Our total liability is capped at the amount you paid in the last 12 months.

12. Arbitration and class action waiver (US)

For US users, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, and you waive the right to participate in class actions, to the extent permitted by law. If arbitration is not permitted for a claim, that claim will be resolved in the courts of California.

13. Jurisdiction and governing law

For Canadian users, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada, with disputes resolved in Ontario, Canada. For US users, these Terms are governed by the laws of California and applicable US federal law, with disputes resolved as described in the arbitration section or in California courts where required.

14. Export/import control

You agree to comply with applicable export controls, sanctions, and trade laws. You will not use the Service in violation of these restrictions.

15. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post updated Terms here and may provide additional notice where required. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable in a jurisdiction, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
